The Dolphins contacted the agent for free agent quarterback Tommy Maddox, who could take the backup role if Gus Frerotte doesn't re-sign.

I can honestly say that, in my mind, Gus Frerotte is a better QB than Tommy Maddox. Maddox had one good year, on a Steelers team packed with talent. Then he got knocked out of a game and has played scared ever since. He's not good. So if that happens Nick, you have my condolences.
