My question: 3 coaches in roughly 3 decades & they still make 6-7 Superbowl appearances. Wish the Chiefs would model their scheme.

The Steelers are a unique franchise that favors stability over the "win now" philosophy. Basically it comes down to believing you hired the right guy in the first place.

HOPE!!!!! He might be coming back!!!??? I love football...

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Chiefs are in negotiations to land Mike Shanahan as their next head coach while NFL Network's Adam Schefter directly contradicts the report.
Schefter states that the Chiefs have never made any contact with Shanahan -- and there have been no contract negotiations. He stresses that "Shanahan will not be the coach of the Chiefs in 2009," instead placing Bill Cowher atop the Chiefs' wish list. Since Schefter used to work in Denver and has been plugged in to Shanahan in the past, we put more stock in his report. Jan. 23 - 5:50 pm et
