The Dolphins contacted the agent for free agent quarterback Tommy Maddox, who could take the backup role if Gus Frerotte doesn't re-sign.

I can honestly say that, in my mind, Gus Frerotte is a better QB than Tommy Maddox. Maddox had one good year, on a Steelers team packed with talent. Then he got knocked out of a game and has played scared ever since. He's not good. So if that happens Nick, you have my condolences.

I'm very happy about Culppeper, I hate loosing the 2nd rounder. (I think that was why I was leaning Brees at first). If Pep is healthy he can be a beast it what is basically still Scott Linehan's offense.
Maddox would make a good number 3. I hope we resign Ferotte at a reduced price.
